402 NRA Range Safety Officer

The NRA Range Safety Officer certification is not an instructor credential.  However, it is a national certification that is widely recognized and it may enable ranges to save money on insurance.  NRA Certified Instructors that also have the NRA Range Safety Officer certification may sometimes be able to gain access to ranges that would otherwise be unavailable to them.

Course Length, Format & Tuition

The NRA Range Safety Officer course is available as a 10-hour classroom session on weekdays, weekends or in a multi-evening format.  Tuition is $150 which includes the required NRA materials.

The NRA RSO application processing fee is $20 for members and $25 for non-members.  The NRA RSO certification fee for the first year is $5 for members and $11 for non-members.
