This is the official, 8-hour NRA Chief Range Safety Officer (CRSO) course leading to the instructor credential to teach the NRA Range Safety Officer course which leads to nationally-recognized “RSO” certification. CRSOs are sought after by clubs and ranges to train their staff to become RSOs. Clubs and ranges may receive a discount on their insurance costs when NRA Range Safety Officers are employed and present during live fire sessions. In addition, BSA and other youth organizations often require the RSO Certification.
This is an instructor course which requires prior completion of the RSO and BIT courses. It is intended for those with a solid background and experience with different types of firearms and actions. CRSOs must be 21 years of age or older.
