NRA Range Safety Officer – 1 Day

$129.00

This is the official, 9-hour NRA Range Safety Officer course leading to the nationally-recognized “RSO” certification.  RSOs are sought after by clubs and ranges who may receive a discount on their insurance costs when NRA Range Safety Officers are employed and present during live fire sessions.  In addition, BSA and other youth organizations often require the RSO Certification.

Although this is a “student” not an instructor level course, it is intended for those with a solid background and experience with different types of firearms and actions.  RSOs must be 21 years of age or older.

Note that RSOs have access to the NRA Instructor Portal just like Instructors and therefore will need either an NRA member # or they will be issued a non-member ID # by the NRA.

Expedite your NRA Instructor certification!

While NRA membership is NOT required for Instructors or RSOs, if we have your membership # by the class date, your new instructor certification will be available to you within a few days thereafter. Otherwise it may take the NRA up to a couple of weeks to issue a non-member Instructor # to you.

NRA Membership is NOT required for Instructors but it will expedite your certification as noted above!

Your NRA Membership & Instructor records must match!

Your NRA membership record MUST match the data that is entered into the report that we file for the NRA Instructor course(s). This includes your exact name, address, apt/unit #, phone and email, etc.

NRA Instructor/RSO Certification Fees

After class, new NRA Instructors/RSOs pay a nominal fee to the NRA to activate their certification which is $35 for members and $60 for non-members. This covers two years and is renewed for the same amount. Existing Instructors/RSOs pay a one-time fee to add each new rating/certification which is $15 for members and $30 for non-members. Your trainer at PROFIRE USA has up to 10 days to file the course report but this is usually done within a few days after the last class once all participants who are NRA members have provided their ID #s. It takes up to 48 hours for the NRA to process each instructor course report after which your new instructor certification will be available for you to activate about 5 days or so after class. You will have 30 days to activate your instructor certification.
